Cheshire Garden

A relatively small property situated on a quarter of an acre of land. The previous garden was a little wild to say the least but the space did benefit from some lovely mature trees; a complete overhaul was required!

Concrete pads and black gravel pathways were laid, echoed by hornbeam and yew hedges. These outline spaces were then softened with smaller buxus and ivy hedges, and the same evergreen materials were replicated in other structural forms (screens, domes and ground cover) within the garden. The existing lawn although re configured remained largely unchanged.

Portuguese laurel pillars were used along one of the vistas to give real presence. An informal planting scheme was created in the largest section of the garden. In this space we used mainly green and white flowers, with the addition of two small trees to create a very intimate area where the informal planting became as tall as the hedges and the seasonal interest begins in early spring and carries through until autumn time.
